Article Title: Death threat for couple behind petition for public holiday to remember Mr Lee Kuan Yew
Article Link:

1. The issue being discussed is that a Singaporean husband-and-wife team: John Lim and Madam Tan Lay Geok had received a death threat because they had started an online petition for an annual public holiday to honor the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

2. The writer did not express any point of view in this article but I feel that what the couple do does not deserve a death threat. I believe that the couple started the petition since they think that people in Singapore these days are very busy and do not have that much free time, hence they started this petition because Mr Lee Kuan Yew held a place in their hearts and they hope for Singaporeans to take time off and reflect about what he has done for this country. I believe that the ones who came across this petition understand the motive behind this petition so I do not understand why a death threat is sent to them. I believe that a death threat is not necessary since if there is any questions about what the personal information collected are used for, there are the couple's emails which you could reach for any questions hence, the person who sent the death threat should have cleared his or her doubts before jumping into such conclusions and send the unnecessary death threat.

  1. I agree with shihuis point , as we should not send a death threat to anyone. Even if they wanted the holiday for themselves then for remembering lee kuanyew, they did not deserve the death threat. It is not right to wish that any human being would die. So, I think that they should not send the death threat
