Article name : Parent-child interaction cannot be replaced by smart devices, early childhood experts say
Published date : 28 June 2015

This article is about some early childhood experts telling parents that they should not expose children to technology and smart devices at too young an age. An experiment showed that one learns better with a human being who responds as compared to just an electronic device. This was proved through the experiment of having one group of American babies to be exposed to the language through Mandarin speakers and the other group exposed to the same Mandarin material through a recorded tape this time.

As the writer did not express his point of view, I will talk about mine instead. I agree with what the early childhood experts said although I do not know things as specified as they do. However, based on my daily life experiences, many people nowadays are constantly fixated on their electronic gadgets instead of spending time to interact with others. I believe that interacting with others, be it your loved ones or friends, is very important as we will get to understand more about each other and will be able to tell their emotions as well based on their expression instead of just making use of social platforms where we might be a little insensitive of others since we are unable to tell how they really feel at times.

  1. I disagree with your point of view that people cannot interact with one another by using modern day technology. I feel that it all boils down to whether these technologies are utilised properly and that wether people demonstrate responsibility when using the Internet or social platforms. If everyone expresses their true feelings all the time and always consider how the other party feels, we can have a happy interaction online. The reason for having social platforms is to connect people from different parts of the world, hence i do not see why we cannot interact online. In fact, it may actually be better than face to face interaction when people are separated from each other.
