This article is about Amos Yee being slapped by a man outside of court. He is a teenager, who is facing charges for his remarks against Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Christianity in a Youtube video.

In my opinion, I think that the man should not have attack Amos Yee. Yes, Amos Yee is being disrespectful to the late Mr Lee, insulting him and using vulgarities against him, still the man should not attack him. It could be understandable that the man was enraged by the video he posted, which I believe many Singaporeans will be after watching the video, however does that gives him the reason to slap Amos Yee. The teenager is already facing sentences issued by the courts and furthermore, what gives the man the rights to hit Amos Yee. Furthermore, he is just a teenager, he should be given the chance to change. It is considered as being rude for the man to hit Amos Yee, he have no reason to do so. Even if he wanted to vent his anger because of the rude things Amos Yee said, there are other alternatives like talking to his parents or publicising an article based on his behaviour.

  1. yes, I definitely agree with you. Amos Yee's punishment should be left for the law to decide, and the man was too rash. this man should have thought of the consequences carefully before slapping him. however, I feel that his actions could also show how he respected for Mr Lee Kuan Yew and I feel that we should all respect Mr Lee Kuan Yew like him, and be grateful for what he has done for us.
