This article is about a 50-year-old woman dying after falling from her fifth-floor flat in Jurong West. Ms Lee Ha Choo was hanging her clothes out to dry when she fell at Block 751 in Jurong West Street 73. The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call for help around 8am. Ms Lee was found unconscious at the foot of the block. The SCDF sent her to the National University Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

I think that this accident could totally have been prevented if Ms Lee did not hang clothes outside her house. It would be much safer if clothes were hung inside, even though that would mean it will take longer for the clothes to dry. Anyone's life is more important than getting your clothes to dry faster. Either that or her son should not have let his mother do it as she was already 50 years old. If there was really no space at home for them to dry their clothes, the son should have hung the clothes outside himself. 50 years old is a bit too old for this kind of work as the pole might be too heavy and this kind of accidents may occur.
