Is the SG50 brand overused?

In my opinion, the SG50 brand is overused. However, this should not be causing any discontentment among Singaporeans. The most recent controversy, the SG50 fishcake, sparked much dispute among Singaporeans. Many commented that companies are pushing their limits too far with SG50, trying to earn greater profits with the word "SG50", hoping to attract more buyers.
Singaporeans have to understand that this is the only year which companies can be able to use SG50 as a marketing strategy. Instead of complaining about the companies, we should instead be amused at how companies are adjusting their products to fit the SG50 theme.
